Victoria Falls Safari Lodge has won the Association of Zimbabwean Travel Agents' (AZTA) Best Safari Lodge of the Year Award for the 16th year in a row. The announcement was made at the annual AZTA Awards ceremony held in Harare.

In addition to its 16th win, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge also made its mark in the category of Exceptional Voluntary Service to AZTA and the Zimbabwe Tourism Industry when Wendy Bourne, marketing executive for Africa Albida Tourism, took home the award for the second year in a row.
Stutchbury said: “Wendy Bourne is so deserving of this award – it is recognition of all the effort she makes outside of her job, and on behalf of colleagues in the industry. She is a true tourism ambassador.”
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is Africa Albida Tourism’s flagship establishment and is just 4km from Victoria Falls.
Designed to give the impression of a vast open-plan tree house, the lodge is built on seven intricate levels rising above the African bushveld and offers its guests views of African sunsets and year-round wildlife at its on-site waterhole – the focal point of the resort.
AZTA has been in existence for over 60 years and has more than 75 members. The group formed as a result of travel agents’ desire for a single voice that would uphold the quality and integrity of professional travel agents’ conduct in the country.
The association has since developed into a highly respected player of major domestic and international tourism organisations. They host the awards ceremony annually.
The newest addition to Africa Albida Tourism’s portfolio is the Ngoma Safari Lodge in the Chobe Forest Reserve in northern Botswana, bordering the Chobe National Park. Owned and operated by Africa Albida Tourism, the property is committed to making a sustainable difference to the local communities and their environment. The lodge, which is a joint community and privately funded project in association with the Chobe Enclave Conservation Trust (CECT), opened to the public in May.
